“Offering Brilliant CAM Solutions for Manufacturing”

Emil Somekh has the combination of product development, marketing, and sales expertise, that enables him to figure out what the customers want, develop a product, then market it and sell it. The main lesson that he knows and tries to convey to other entrepreneurs is that they need to develop what the customer wants and then have potential customers test it and give them valuable feedback. “After you have the product, you have to execute an aggressive marketing and sales strategy, based on combined direct sales and reseller sales,” he says. “And this leads towards greater achievements and results”

For Emil, success is relative. “When can you say you have reached success: 10 happy customers? 1000 happy customers? 10,000 happy customers? If you can develop, market, sell and support a product that customers want, while staying profitable, then you are successful. Then the more customers, the more sales, the better!” He adds, “To achieve best success, you must stay independent, rather than selling to bigger companies, who will always offer you lucrative offers. Since you know your specific field the best, you need to keep focused on it, with complete independence!” Armed with such a unique ideology, Emil took the company towards higher productivity and success.

“After you have the product, you have to execute an aggressive marketing and sales strategy, based on combined direct sales and reseller sales.”

The SolidCAM product results from 37 years of development, by a combined team of CNC experts and excellent programmers, always listening to SolidCAM’s CNC machine shop customers’ requests and ensuring the support of the continually advancing CNC machine tools and cutting tools developments.

The market pain points being addressed by SolidCAM, include the best integration of CAM in CAD – same UI and Toolpath Associativity, the need for high-end CNC machining support (multi-channel mill-turn & Swiss CNCs), the requirement of complex easily-customized postprocessors, and the need for expert technical CNC machining support.

SolidCAM finalized their SolidWorks integration in 2002 and launched it in SolidWorks World 2002 in Las Vegas. They got the SolidWorks Gold Partner status in 2003 and signed in 2003 an OEM agreement with SolidWorks, whereby SolidCAM can sell a complete SolidWorks + SolidCAM CAD/CAM solution worldwide, to their CNC machine shop customers – if customers already have SolidWorks, they get the SolidCAM add-in only. “We have joined and exhibited in every annual SolidWorks World event since 2002. Many of our major resellers worldwide, are major SolidWorks resellers, who sell SolidCAM as their preferred CAM add-in to their SolidWorks customers.”

Emil and his team ensure that they have the most updated SolidCAM’s integration, in the latest SolidWorks versions, and continuously add the CAM functionality needed to support the advancing CNC machine tool technology, also adding CAM automation, wherever possible.

SolidCAM's revolutionary iMachining technology puts SolidCAM at the cutting edge of CAM Machining technology. It is a unique and revolutionary Toolpath and Wizard – nobody, has anything similar! They save 70% and more in machining cycle time and increase tool life by 5 to 10 times. iMachining guarantees constant force on the tool (constant spindle load), enabling the unique iMachining technology wizard, that automatically calculates optimal feeds and speeds at every point of the toolpath, taking into account stock material's properties, cutting tool properties, and CNC machine parameters.

SolidCAM uses all the new marketing venues: Website, Google, LinkedIn, and other social media. CRM is used extensively to manage leads and customers in the sales process, alongside leveraging as much as possible the online tools, Microsoft Teams, GotoWebinar & Zoom, for webinars, prospect demos and technical support.

“We make sure always to have the budget for continuous advanced R&D, by having a very successful sales organization worldwide, that includes SolidWorks resellers who sell SolidCAM, dedicated CAM Resellers, own Branches and Affiliates,” explains Emil.

SolidCAM has the culture of providing the best CAM product technical support and customized post processors for their CNC machine shop customers. CNC machine shops invest a lot of money in their CNC machine tools, cutting tools, stock material and staff, and they need an easy-to-learn and use CAM system, that can support their most complex CNC machines, with the best expert technical and postprocessor support. SolidCAM has excellent product managers, for all the types of CNC machining and experienced specification definition, programming, and QA staff. “CAM development and Technical/Post processor Support, can be done the best for CNC machine shop customers, ONLY by a company dedicated solely to this field – this is SolidCAM!”

For the days to come, the company will continue SolidCAM integration in additional CAD systems, expanding support of Multi-Channel Advanced Mill-Turn and Swiss CNCs, and continue enhancing their amazing iMachining technology. SolidCAM will start soon also providing its CNC customers with Additive Manufacturing solutions, to complement their CNC manufacturing. IE
